In a major administrative overhaul, the Uttar Pradesh government has transferred 66 Provincial Civil Services (PCS) officers, including more than 60 Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs), signaling a major realignment in the state’s bureaucracy. The late-night reshuffle on Sunday affected key departments such as Revenue, Urban Local Bodies, and Consolidation, aiming to enhance governance efficiency and field-level accountability.

Around 1:00 AM, the state government issued another transfer order, moving 12 more PCS officers. Out of the original 66 officers, 63 were recently promoted from the Tehsildar cadre. Notably, seven officers have now been appointed as SDMs in the same districts where they served as Tehsildars, ensuring smoother transitions and continuity in local administration.
