Shri Sanjay Jaju holds a postgraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering and is also a qualified Cost & Management Accountant. He further pursued an MBA in Finance, equipping him with a strong foundation in both technical and administrative domains.
He began his career in municipal administration, serving as Municipal Commissioner in Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam. In the Andhra Pradesh state government, he played key roles in urban governance, civil supplies, and the IT and Communications Department.

Appointed in February 2024, Shri Jaju heads the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, overseeing the government’s media strategy, regulatory framework, and public broadcasting operations. His responsibilities include:
- Supervision of major media institutions including Doordarshan, All India Radio, and the Press Information Bureau.
- Oversight of the Central Board of Film Certification and digital media policy formulation.
- Policy modernization for OTT regulation and support for indigenous content platforms.
