The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of Shri Prashant Kumar Singh, a 1993-batch IAS officer from the Manipur cadre, as the new Secretary of the National Commission for Scheduled Tribes (NCST).
He succeeds Shri Puneet Kumar Goel (IAS, AGMUT:1991), and will serve at the rank and pay level of Secretary to the Government of India.
Prior to this appointment, Prashant Kumar Singh was serving as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Government e-Marketplace (GeM), an initiative under the Government of India to enhance transparency and efficiency in public procurement.
An accomplished civil servant, Singh holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from IIT Delhi, and a gold medal in Public Policy & Sustainable Development from TERI University, New Delhi.
