Amrit Lal Meena holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from the Malaviya National Institute of Technology, Jaipur. He also completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Public Policy and Management from the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore. He entered the IAS in 1989 and began his administrative career with foundational roles in Bihar’s districts.

- Meena served as Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) in Begusarai and Sitamarhi, and as District Magistrate in several districts including Muzaffarpur, Siwan, Nalanda, Bhojpur, and Gaya.
