In a recent high-level reshuffle, the Bihar Government has reassigned responsibilities to 10 senior IPS officers, signaling a strategic overhaul in the state’s police leadership to improve operational efficiency.
DG Jitendra Kumar Gets Additional Charge of Bihar Special Armed Police
Jitendra Kumar, a 1993-batch IPS officer and currently the Director General of the Central Selection Board of Constable Recruitment, has now been entrusted with the additional charge of Director General, Bihar Special Armed Police (B-SAP). His promotion to DG rank and expanded mandate reflect the government’s trust in his leadership to strengthen Bihar’s armed policing capabilities.
Key Changes at the Inspector General (IG) and Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Levels
- Anusuiya Ransingh Sahu (2006 batch), previously IG (Civil Security), has been appointed IG (Training).
- Pankaj Kumar Raj (2006 batch), recently promoted, takes over as IG (Civil Security).
- Rajiv Mishra (2010 batch), who earlier held additional charge as DIG (Prohibition), has been reassigned with the additional charge of DIG (Railways).
- Rashid Zaman (2010 batch), DIG (Administration), Bihar, now additionally holds DIG (Prohibition).
- Ashish Bharti, DIG of Begusarai Range, has received the additional charge of DIG, B-SAP (Northern Circle) in Muzaffarpur.
Changes in SP and Commandant-Level Appointments
- Mithilesh Kumar, an SP-rank officer awaiting posting, has been appointed SP, Emergency Response Support System (ERSS – Dial 112).
- Kantesh Kumar Mishra (2015 batch) has been named SP, CID (Economic Offences).
- Vidya Sagar, formerly SP of ERSS, becomes Commandant, B-SAP 8, Begusarai.
- Manoj Kumar, who previously held that post, is now SP, Surveillance Investigation Bureau.
- Mamta Kalyani, a Bihar Police Service officer, has been relieved from her additional charge as SP (Economic Offences), CID.
